Sound Level Monitoring

The hazard you can't see

Noise is the most prevalent hazard in industry.

  • 46% of workers in the manufacturing industry are exposed to hazardous noise.
  • 51% of workers in the construction industry are exposed to hazardous noise.
  • 76% of mining industry workers are exposed to hazardous noise.

Hazardous noise can harm an individual's quality of life and become a chronic health condition if gone unchecked. Identification and control of hazardous noise must be one of the top priorities of an effective safety program.

How it works

An SMC technician will come on-site to monitor the sound level for all areas of the facility. The technician will then generate and deliver a report that includes:

  • Results in dbA for each location in the facility
  • PPE required for each location (based on OSHA PEL of 90 dbA)
  • Recommendations for minimum level of NRR of PPE for each location
